THE RISING TENSION BETWEEN ISRAEL AND IRAN

Over the past week, the international community has been closely watching a dangerous situation unfold in the Middle East, as tensions between Israel and Iran have reached new and alarming levels.

On June 12, 2025, Israel launched airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military sites. The Israeli government claims the action was necessary to stop Iran from advancing its nuclear weapons program and to prevent weapons from being sent to militant groups in the region.

In response, Iran fired drones and missiles at several locations in Israel. Some of the attacks were blocked by Israel’s defense system, but others caused minor damage. Iran has warned that if Israel continues its attacks, it will respond with even stronger force.

This is more than just a fight between two countries. It’s a conflict that could affect the whole world. For one, if this continues, it might draw in other countries in the region—such as Lebanon or Syria—and possibly even the United States.

Due to Iran being a major oil-producing country, the conflict is already affecting global oil prices, which means everyday people could feel the impact through rise in the cost of fuel and food costs.

Leaders from around the world, including the United Nations and the European Union, are calling for peace and asking both sides to stop the outrageous fight.

Meanwhile, Israel’s Prime Minister says the strikes were necessary for national security. Iran’s Supreme Leader is warning that they will not back down and will defend their country.

With both countries claiming to defend their national security,it pose a great threat on International peace.
