Unless an unexpected turn of events occurs, the Electoral Commission (EC) is set to hold fresh elections on Friday, July 11, 2025, across 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency, Greater Accra Region.
This follows a ruling by the High Court in Accra, which dismissed a 10-day interim injunction request filed by Akua Afriyie, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, aimed at halting the EC’s plans to conduct the re-run.
The NPP has contested the EC’s decision to organize new elections in the constituency, arguing that the Commission had previously informed Parliament it would collate results from six polling stations to determine the winner of the December 7, 2024, parliamentary election. That contest pitted Afriyie against Awurabena Aubyn, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate.
Good job done keep it up
